Common Questions.

Operational details, policies, and standards. Find straight answers regarding selections, fees, training loads, and player welfare. No fluff. Just the facts.

1. Selections & Teams

How does the selection process work?

Selection is data-driven and objective. We use a rigorous 3-Phase process covering Character, Physical Standards, and Volleyball Skill. We utilise video analysis during trial sessions to review athlete decision-making and mechanics, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation beyond just raw athleticism.

What is the "Premier League" standard?

Premier League is our competitive stream. It requires full commitment to the mandated training load, strength and conditioning protocols, and travel availability. Positions in these squads are subject to performance reviews.

Do you accept beginners?

Yes. We funnel athletes based on ability. Beginners start in our development programs to master the fundamentals before progressing to competitive squads.

When are squad offers released?

Offers are sent via email following the conclusion of Phase 3 evaluations. Athletes have a strict 48-hour window to accept their position and pay the deposit to secure their jersey number for the season.

2. Training & Recovery

What does a typical training week look like?

The CVC Standard is a mandatory 5-hour weekly load for competitive athletes. This typically splits into offensive systems (2hrs), defensive systems (2hrs), and a dedicated strength & conditioning block (1hr).

Is gym work mandatory?

Athletes are strongly encouraged to follow a structured strength and conditioning program to ensure they can handle the physical demands of the season.

Where is the training base?

We are located at Mt Warren Park Sports Centre.

What happens if I miss a session?

Attendance is tracked. While we understand emergencies happen, unexplained absences or chronic tardiness will impact your court time and selection eligibility. We train as we play; if you aren't there, you cannot improve.

3. Fees & Finance

What do my Core fees cover?

Your base CVC Membership fee reflects our expanded program delivery, coaching depth, facility costs, and resources that make high-performance training possible.

It includes the benefits outlined in our annual Membership Prospectus. It also directly funds our various CVC programs and initiatives, alongside club administration, competition entry, video analysis tools, insurance, and your Athlete Welcome Box — packed with exclusive club gear and essentials to start the season right, and more.

It includes the Volleyball Queensland (VQ) Full Membership Fee of $75, covering state registration into PVL 2026, and Pre-Season Training.

In-Season Training are not included, and are invoiced separately and weekly. We conduct fundraisers on a regular basis to alleviate these costs.

Do you accept Play On! Vouchers?

Yes. We accept Queensland Government Play On! vouchers to help subsidise membership fees for eligible athletes. These must be presented prior to any payment.

Are uniforms included in the fees?

No. Playing jerseys are purchased separately.

Do you offer refunds?

Fees are strictly non-refundable once the season commences, except in cases of season-ending medical incapacity verified by a specialist. We do not refund for "change of mind" or conflicting commitments.

4. Welfare, Fines & Policies

What happens if I leave the club mid-season?

By accepting a position, you commit to the financial obligations for the full season. Withdrawal from the team — whether voluntary or due to conflicting commitments — does not void your liability for the remainder of your fees.

What is the fines policy?

CVC operates on individual accountability. Fines imposed by regulators (e.g., for missing duty or uniform violations) are passed directly to the responsible player. Failure to pay fines within 28 days may result in suspension from training and games.

What if I am injured during the season?

Report it immediately. Our CVC Protect framework ensures you have access to support. Injured athletes, subject to the extent of the injury, are expected to attend training to maintain tactical knowledge, even if they cannot physically participate.

Can I transfer from another club?

Yes. However, under Volleyball Queensland rules, you must be "financial" (have zero debt) with your previous club before we can accept your registration. We conduct clearance checks on all transfers.
